About Us

Welcome to ESOL Florida

ESOL Florida was created as a resource for advocates and reporters to find frequently requested information on language education policies and current issues.

For information on additional priorities and activities of

LULAC Florida, please visit https://lulacflorida.org/.

The ESOL Florida Portal includes information about Florida’s quarter-million English Language Learners, the organizations that support them, and the local, state and national judicial, legislative and regulatory issues that affect their access to an equitable education.

The esolflorida.org is administered by Dr. Rosa Castro Feinberg, a retired FIU faculty member, who manages the Sunshine State TESOL Advocacy Mailing list and is Co-Chair of LULAC Florida's Government and Media Relations Committee. Previously, she was a teacher, Director of the University of Miami National Origin Desegregation Assistance Center (the Lau Center), and member of the Dade County School Board and Florida’s Post Secondary Education Planning Commission.

Allied organizations that support public education are invited to submit event announcements, calls to action, reports and opinion statements on any aspect of educational equity for consideration for posting on this site.

Dr. Rosa Castro Feinberg can be reached at rcastro@fiu.edu.
